iScripts MultiCart - Multi-Vendor Marketplace Script

Prelude

Please read every step of the relevant instructions before undertaking the first step. It is always a good idea to backup your data before performing any sort of changes to your server/files. 

System Requirements

iScripts MultiCart runs equally well on Linux, Windows or any platform that can support a web server and the PHP language. For your use we suggest Apache web server. But web server that supports PHP is acceptable. 

To perform well, server have to meet the below requirements. 

a) PHP 5.2x or 5.3x

b) MySQL database server 4.1 or greater. 

Other Requirements for Trouble-free Installation/Compatibility are: 

c) Send Mail - (Yes).

d) PHP safe mode - (OFF).

e) CURL extension - (Yes)(In case you are using Authorize.net payment gateway).

iScripts MultiCart performs to it’s maximum potential, if your server meets all of the above conditions

Overview iScripts MultiCart

iScripts MultiCart is a multi-vendor script that helps to start your own marketplace hassle-free. Once you purchase the marketplace script, add your logo, website content, products directly into the platform. This is a direct process that can be finished within just a few clicks. You can add own products and contact vendors who fit well with the marketplace. The added products should fit theme of your website and target market. When your site contains enough sellers and products, you can start marketing your ecommerce website to potential customers.

Installation 

Following are the steps for installing iScripts MultiCart in your server.

 

3.1) Unzip the entire contents from multicart.zip to a desired location. After that, upload the contents using an FTP clientto the desired location in your server. Instead of FTP client we suggest CoreFTP or FTPzilla to use.

 

3.2) Set 'Write' permission to the following folders (Set folder permission as 777)

 

a) Products

b) Portfolios

c) Products/bulk_images

d) Pem

e) Banners

f) Digital_product

g) Csv

h) Products/zip

i) Homepage banners

j) Seller banners

k) Categories/avatar

l) Categories

 

3.3) Provide 'Write' permission for the following files (Set file permission as 777)

 

a) includes/config.php 

b) .htaccess

3.4) Run the link http://www.yoursitename.com/install in your browser and follow the given below instructions.

Once you upload the files in the root (home directory), you will get access to iScripts MultiCart installation wizard at http://www.yoursitename.com. Installation of the script in any directory is possible, it should be under the root. For example if you upload a zip file in a directory say http://www.yoursitename.com/Multicart then you can access iScripts MultiCart at http://www.yoursitename.com/Multicart

 

Fill in the installation process:

Database server host name: There will be deafault name as ‘localhost’ in every cases. In all other cases, you can contact your server provider for database host name.

License Key: You will get a license key at the time of purchase and you have to enter this key in the "License Key" field. The script would function only for the domain it is licensed. The key is also added in the email you received at the time of purchase with subject: 'iScripts.com software download link'. Check the email if you doesn't recall your license key. You can also get the license key from your user panel at https://www.iscripts.com

Database name, Database Username & Database passwordCreate a new database from your Cpanel/database manager for iScripts MultiCart. Also create a database user and provide full access to the database created. 

Site Name: iScripts MultiCart automatically grabs your domain name as site name. If you prefer a different name, you can edit to provide a desired name.

Admin Email: Provide site owner email id.

 

Once you have completed the installation form, press install now. 

3.5) On clicking ‘install now’, iScripts MultiCart configures the database and script according to your specification. If the installation is successful, you will be able to view the following:

 

Home URL: http://www.yoursitename.com

Admin URL: http://www.yoursitename.com/admin

Admin Credentials:

Username - ‘admin’

Password - ‘admin’

Note: Once the installation procedure is complete you have to change the admin password as soon as possible. 

 

3.6) Due to security reasons you have to remove the 'Write' permission provided to the file 'includes/config.php'. Also it is strongly recommended to delete 'install' folder once installation is complete.
